
Cygmax Institute of Management Studies (CIMS) today conducted a seminar on ‘Career opportunities for Engineering graduates in current economic slow down” at Cygmax Institute of Management studies in Visakhapatnam today.
Addressing the final year Engineering students, Prof O.R.S. Rao, Director of CIMS advised them that in view of the lack of campus placements during current year from IT/ITES companies, it is prudent for Engineering Graduates to do MBA to improve career prospects . “Besides, MBA will allow the students flexibility with regard to choice of industry and choice of roles in their career” added Prof Rao.
Allaying the fears of the students on whether the Engineering students can cope with MBA curriculm, in particular, finance subjects, Prof Rao mentioned that Cygmax conducts a bridge course for 1 month ,from June 15 to July 14 , which covers fundamentals of finance and accounts
which enables the students to cope up with the curriculum.
Prof P. Rama Rao, Principal of CIMS, Visakhpatnam highlighted that curriculum for Cygmax MBA programme is job oriented and focuses on imparting vocational skills in areas like Marketing, Finance, HR etc. Besides , Cygmax plays an accent on personality development ,with focus on soft skills , for which Cygmax set up a sophisticated soft skills laboratory along with experienced soft skills trainer who ensure that students get opportunity to practice the same on daily basis. Bucking the recent trends of slow down, Cygmax secured impressive Summer Internships for its students of 2008-10 batch. Graduates, in any discipline that studied in English medium and secured a minimum 50% average marks are eligible for this MBA Programme. Admissions are on the basis of Entrance Examination and interview. Last date for receipt of filled up applications in April 15,2009 . CIMSAT (Cygmax Admission Test ) will be conducted on May 4 and results will be announced on May 8.
